Criminals sometimes pose as iDEAL | Wero to trick you into clicking a link or sharing your bank details. Here’s how to recognise it.
How to recognise fake iDEAL emails
- A false sense of urgency, often with a strict deadline.
- Claims your account needs “mandatory verification” or has been suspended.
- A button or link asking you to “confirm your identity” or “activate” a payment.
- A sender address that doesn’t end in an official iDEAL | Wero domain.
iDEAL | Wero will never ask you by e-mail or text message to verify your identity, confirm personal details, or activate a payment service.
What to do if you spot one
- Don’t click any links or open attachments.
- Never share personal or banking details.
- Delete the message, or report it to your own bank.
